Many Fla. real estate licensees who faced a Sept. 30 deadline to renew their license now have an additional month under an emergency order signed by DBPR.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Melanie S. Griffin, Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, signed Emergency Order 2022-01 on Wednesday extending the deadline to Oct. 31 for some license renewals, including those real estate licensees who faced a Sept. 30 deadline.

Among other things, the emergency order says:

  • The Sept. 30 license renewal deadline is suspended until Oct. 31, 2022. This includes real estate “Sales Associates, Broker Sales Associates, Brokers, Corporate Brokers, Partnerships, and Corporations and Branch Offices.”
  • For the same group, it suspends “any existing renewal conditions related to the completion of hours of continuing education.” Licenses “renewed on or before Oct. 31, 2002, shall be considered as timely renewals and will not be assessed any late fees.”
  • All final orders reflecting a final agency action are suspended until Oct. 31.
  • All time, notice and deadline requirements as outlined in DBPR orders are extended to Oct. 31.
